Terms & Conditions

  • Unless you request the FixIT Data Recovery service it is solely your responsibility to have backed up any data stored on your computer. Although the greatest care will be taken to protect your data, the nature of some faults, & the actions of some repairs mean this is not always possible. FixIT accepts no responsibility for any Data or Programs lost as a result of any work carried out on your machine.

  • We only supply & install genuine software, we never install trial versions or illegally obtained software. If you are having Windows re-installed (Format) we can only install it if a valid license is present. Please note: Microsoft Office is not a standard part of windows, although some systems may come with Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) installed at purchase, if you can’t supply your Microsoft Office CDs and license key, it can’t be installed. The same applies to Photoshop and any other commercial programs.

  • Your name, email address & phone number may be kept on record in order to provide a better service. FixIT does not keep hold of or sell any of your personal information or data nor do we look through your personal files for any reason unless you request Data Recovery.

  • No work will be carried out without your consent. Once the Diagnosis is complete you will be contacted with a quote for repair. Only once you have given your consent will you be liable for any costs other than the Diagnostic fee. In extremely rare cases it may be necessary to carry out a repair to prove the diagnosis & you will be liable for the cost of repair.

  • Only quality named brand parts are used in our repairs. All repairs are guaranteed (unless stated otherwise) & all workmanship comes with warranty. All of our parts come with a minimum one year warranty from the date of sale with the exception of screens & refurbished/used items which come with their own warranty terms.

  • We can only provide warranty for parts provided by us, if you supply the parts we may be happy to fit them for you, however if those parts then fail, or your diagnosis is incorrect then we will not be responsible for funding replacements nor any further workmanship required.

  • We will take the greatest care with your equipment, our premises is secured when unmanned, is clean, tidy, & fully insured. However we accept no responsibility for any equipment damaged/stolen at any time when working on or in custody of your equipment unless the damage/theft is caused directly, or by the negligence of persons under our employ. We also accept no responsibility for any damage caused to your equipment as a result of either on-site failure or acts of god (extreme weather, fire etc). All equipment is left with us at the owners risk.

  • After work is complete payment will be expected before or on the day of pick up or in the case of Call Out repairs, as soon as repairs are complete. Failure to pick up your device within 28 days of receiving notification of completion will result in the machine being re-sold/broken down for spares at our discretion in order to recoup money owed. If exceptional circumstances apply (eg holidays) then FixIT must be notified in advance. Personal data will be securely wiped before the hard drive is disposed of.

  • It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that security settings & Antivirus software is installed & maintained once returned. We will not be held responsible if any malicious software appears on the computer after repairs are complete.

  • Faulty electronic components (such as power sockets) in rare cases cause electrical arcing & other components can be stressed, when this happens failure can appear to occur after a computer has been brought in/returned. In this case we will not accept responsibility for repairs or funding replacement components.

  • Computers, Laptops, & Electronic devices are complex in nature, different faults can cause the same symptoms (Hard Drive, RAM failure, & Viruses can prevent a computer from starting up). When work is complete & you are satisfied that all workmanship has been completed correctly you must sign the receipt to state that you are content. After this point you have 24hrs both to ensure that the problems you reported are solved & report any issues to FixIT.

  • We will not be held responsible for any further faults that develop after the machine has left our workshop or after our Technician has left your premises, no matter how similar in nature they appear to you or the owner/user. However, if on examination by a FixIT technician it is the failure of a new part within warranty or the fault was not repaired correctly in the first instance we will repair the problem at no further cost to you. Parts which fail within warranty due to manufacturing defects will be replaced free, however labour may be charged for fittng (at a reduced cost).

  • If you have requested any of our services, repairs, parts, or hardware, this constitutes that you have both read and understood the Terms & Conditions and that you consent to them.

  • We reserve the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time, without warning and continued use of any of our services at any stage constitutes that you consent to both the original Terms & Conditions and the revised ones.
